HIKES
Machine Falls

For My Dad's 50th Birthday, his family decided to surprise him with a visit. It was truly the best gift he could have ever received. We all enjoyed each other's company and it was the best feeling having 15 family members in one house. I decided to take my cousins on a hike, so they can see how beautiful Tennessee really is. What I didn't take into consideration was that both of my cousins and Eridanni are athletes, I would be the only one who is out of shape. Of course, I was exhausted in the first 5 minutes. My legs started shaking and I was out of breath. This always happens to me when I go on hikes, especially when I haven't been active.
The trail is fairly easy, I struggled simply because I'm so freaken lazy. The entire path is marked, so the waterfall is easy to find. There are arrows, stating "connector" on them. These arrows will lead you to the top of the waterfall, if you want to take pictures where we did, don't follow the signs. We ended up climbing through rocks and through the water to get down. There are signs that forbid us passing certain points, but since my cousins are adventurous, and I felt safe with them, we continued on our own trail. The hike back is really pretty. We followed the trail, we should have taken to begin with, if we hadn't followed the "connector" arrows. It lead us to a really pretty river that flows through the park. We then had to climb up about 100 stairs to the trail and finally back to my car. It was definitely a beautiful waterfall, and a beautiful experience with my cousins.
