TRAVEL
Boston
April 2010
A couple years ago, I went on a school trip to Boston, without my parents. It was a historical trip, so most of what we did, coincided with US History. We visited The Tortoise and the Hare park, which has huge tortoise and hare monuments you can sit on. Across from the park is Old South Church. The architecture of every building in Boston is insane. One of our first stops was Harvard. We walked through the empty campus, and even touched John Harvard's shoe for good-luck! Next Stop, was the New England Aquarium, at the time I was obsessed with penguins, so I was super excited about being able to see them in person. This aquarium houses the world's largest sea turtle, so we were able to see that as well. One of the days, we spent in Salem where the Salem Witch Trails took place. We walked through the town, and visited a really creepy cemetery. We drove through the freedom trail and stopped by Paul Revere's House. It's actually really crazy to see it still standing. We visited the USS Constitution which was insanely tiny. Some of the taller people on our tour, couldn't stand straight because of how small the ship was. |
My favorite stops of the entire trip were visiting Fenway Park, Marblehead Lighthouse, and Quincy Market. We walked the field, sat on the green monster, walked through the alley outside of the field, and visited the gift shop. The Lighthouse in North Boston, was so cute. The view to the ocean was beautiful. It was a nice warm day, despite the strong winds. We spent a lot of time in Quincy Market. It has shops, food places, and many tiny little gift shops.
The last stops were the Prudential Tower & Center and John F Kenndy Museum. The Prudential Center is a mall but also a business center, the tower is one of the worlds tallest buildings. We were able to overlook the entire city. The JFK Museum is also a library, it was pretty cool. |
